A little help
with Snapback.
Email [email protected] and we’ll get back to you.
Getting started
- Scan a receipt: on the Spending tab, tap Scan and hold your iPhone over the receipt. Snapback captures it as soon as the page is steady, reads the total, shop and date, and adds it to your spending.
- Scan an invite or flyer: on the Inbox tab, tap Scan. If Snapback finds a date ahead, it sets a reminder; otherwise it keeps the scan in your Inbox.
- Use photos you already have: tap From Photos (or the photo icon) and pick up to 10 images at once.
- Screenshots: allow Photos access when asked and Snapback picks up new screenshots so you can turn them into reminders.
- Add to Calendar: open an item and tap Add to Calendar, or turn on “Also add to Calendar” when you set a reminder.
Spending
The Spending tab shows what you spent this week, month or year, by category and by shop. Tap a receipt to fix the amount, shop, date or category; your changes are never overwritten. Spending in other currencies is shown separately rather than added together.
If you scan the same receipt twice, Snapback marks the second one as a likely duplicate and leaves it out of your totals. Open it and choose Keep both if it really was two purchases.
Common questions
Snapback couldn’t read the total. Make sure the whole receipt is in frame, flat and well lit, then scan again, or tap Add on the banner to type the amount.
Does Snapback upload my receipts or screenshots? No. Text is read on your iPhone and everything stays on it. See the privacy policy.
I’m not getting reminders. Check Settings › Notifications › Snapback and make sure notifications are allowed.
How do I stop screenshots counting as spending? In Snapback › Settings, turn off reading receipts from screenshots. Scans from the camera still count.
How do I undo a scan? Tap the undo arrow on the banner that appears after scanning, or open the item and delete it.
When reporting an issue
Include your device model, iOS version, app version (Snapback › Settings), and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots can help if they don’t contain personal information.
Please don’t send photos of receipts that show card numbers or other private details.
